As a diesel mechanic in the Netherlands, your primary responsibilities would include maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel engines and related components. This involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and conducting repairs to ensure the optimal performance of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. You would work with a variety of tools and equipment to troubleshoot and fix problems, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
In addition to technical skills, you would need to have a good understanding of diesel engine systems and be able to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Communication skills are also important, as you may need to explain technical issues and solutions to customers or colleagues.
Our client is a service company with 150+ employees, focused on the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. They work with a mixed fleet of trucks, buses, construction machinery, generators, and industrial diesel engines for clients in logistics, infrastructure, ports, and heavy industry across the Netherlands.
Their workshop in the province of Overijssel is modern, well-equipped. Alongside scheduled maintenance, they handle breakdowns, inspections, and long‑term fleet contracts.
